Planning for Your Child's Future: Understanding 529 ABLE Accounts
Tom Treacy, Deputy Assistant State Treasurer and Executive Director of the Treasurer's Advisory Committee
Kansas 529 ABLE accounts are a powerful tax-advantaged savings tool designed specifically for individuals with disabilities. ABLE accounts allow families to save and invest without jeopardizing eligibility for critical benefits like SSI and Medicaid. Tom brings deep expertise in Kansas savings programs, having previously served as Director of the Quest529 Education Savings Program and worked on investor education efforts at the Kansas Insurance Department. He'll walk us through how ABLE accounts work, who qualifies, and how families can get started.
